Soca music is a vibrant genre that is at the heart of all Caribbean-styled carnivals worldwide. As with all music genres, people are always interested in the top songs; they seek out a "Top 10" chart. Today, after a brief hiatus, Sokah2Soca is, once again, featuring the current chart. So, for the chart-seekers and for those who love to live in the moment, here are the COTT Soca Top Ten Radio Plays for the week of December 28, 2023–January 3, 2024.

It should be noted, however, please note that this chart does not include YouTube or paid online downloads. This chart simply tracks radio plays in Trinidad and Tobago. As a result, the actual chart may not reflect the most popular Soca songs favored by the public, but songs that radio professionals deem significant enough to play on the radio.

One of the sources of information about the latest trends and popular songs in soca music is the Cott Radio Play chart. The Top 10 is a chart published by the Copyright Organization of Trinidad and Tobago (COTT). COTT is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of composers, authors, and publishers of musical works in Trinidad and Tobago. The organization collects and distributes royalties to its members for the public performance and broadcast of their works, including on radio stations.

The Cott Radio Play chart is based on data provided by a sample of Trinidad and Tobago radio stations that report their weekly airplay to COTT. The chart reflects the total number of plays each song received during the week, and the data is weighted to account for differences in the number of radio stations and their audience sizes.

Since sourcing Soca music is mostly based on YouTube searches and Julien Promos DJ packs, we have included this chart as a public service. However, we don't believe that this chart is a true reflection of the most popular Soca tracks today because the turnover takes too long.

The National Under-21 Panorama finals took place at the Big Yard, in front of the Grand Stand at Queens Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain., Trinidad. The song selections, the musical arrangements, and the joy seen on the faces of the players bode well for the future of the steelpan in the land that created the instrument. Tonight, a new champion was crowned best steelband orchestra for the National Under 21 category. "BP Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra" emerged winning playing Voice's "Woman" amassing a total score of  276 points."

This was a difficult category to judge because of the talent involved. No one wanted to be a judge in this category. Yes, the performances were that good! We will follow suit and follow DJ Aaron's comment from Savannah that this could only happen in Trinidad and Tobago. #OnlyInTrinidad!

The Results were as follows:
01. BP Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra - 276 Points
02. T&TEC Tropical Angel Harps Youth Steel Orchestra - 273
02. Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra - 273
04. First Citizens Supernovas Youth Steel Orchestra - 272
05. Shell Invaders Youth Steel Orchestra - 268
07. Siparia Deltones Junior Steel Orchestra - 267
07. HADCO Phase II Pan Groove Junior Steel Orchestra - 267
09. Panasonic Connection Youth Steel Orchestra - 262

Congratulations are extended to the winning steelband for the 2024 National Junior Panorama competition, Holy Faith Convent Penal. This was an amazing feat considering that, as stated by the arranger, 27 of the 33 girls who played today were first-time steelpan players. The school does not have any steelpans and had to use Panasonic Connection steel orchestra pans. Now that is something to celebrate!

Holy Faith Convent placed second in the semi-final round of competition; they improved their score by 14 points today to win it all. The arranger said that they chose Savannah Grass because Kes revived the song with an improved version. That new version of Savannah Grass sold for the arranger, who initially planned to play Destra's "First Time." "First Time" simply because it was the first time playing the steelpan for most of the girls. Choosing "Savannah Grass" turned out to be the right decision. The judges agreed and awarded the band 261 points.

The Results were as follows:
01. Holy Faith Convent Penal - Savannah Grass - 275 Points
02. QRC Providence - 273 (tie for second place)
02. Naparima Combine - Call My Name - 273 (tie for second place)
04. Bishop East & Trinity
05. South East Port-of-Spain
06. San Juan North Secondary
07. St. Joseph's Convent
08. Holy Cross College
09. St. Francois Girls
10. Bishop Anstey High School
