Politicians beware; your Calypsonians are paying attention and will report to the people in a stinging fashion. It appears that the opposition leader did not think about what she was saying and chose to use Zess-style to convey her message. For those who are unaware, Zess is a Trini slang term that means "to show off or to be flashy."

It turns out that Devon Seale took her to task for her 'gaslighting' the topic of crime in Trinidad and Tobago. The opposition leader advised that the people should "light them up," but instead Devon Seale is setting the leader ablaze because of her zealous actions while campaigning.

So what do we like about this song? Our pet peeve was addressed with this song; the music composition is danceable! The lyrical content is on point, and the vocals complement the music with class. We love the song and recommend it.

YouTube Music Release Notes:
This parody in song treats the opposition leader's clumsy and awkward embrace of the language of the " Trinibad/Dancehall artists (called Zesser music in local dialect) to fortify her "Stand Your Ground"  crime initiative during the recent local government elections campaign.

The Soca Music World was plunged into mourning today with the untimely death of Antiguan Soca Sensation, Ricardo Drue. Sokah2Soca extends condolences to his immediate family, Patrice Roberts, and their daughter, along with Soca music fans around the world.

Sigh. As we mourn the loss of a very talented and wonderful person and gifted Soca artist, people who loved and admired his work will grieve greatly for his departure.  Ricardo Drue will be dearly missed.

The following article was taken from Times Caribbean:

In a shocking turn of events, the vibrant Soca star Ricardo Drue has tragically passed away. According to reports from Antigua/Barbuda's national broadcaster, ABS TV/Radio, Drue was pronounced dead at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre around noon today (Tuesday). The news follows his sudden hospitalization after being found unresponsive.

Ricardo Drue, a dominant force in the Soca Monarch and Road March scenes of Antigua/Barbuda, had garnered immense popularity across the region. Known for his infectious tunes and energetic performances, he held a special place in the hearts of Soca enthusiasts.

The late artist engaged to Trinidad and Tobago soca sensation Patrice Roberts was not only a solo act but also the lead singer of the renowned A-Team Band. Drue's contributions to the Soca genre were significant, and his music resonated with fans far beyond the shores of Antigua/Barbuda.

Among his well-known hits, "Vagabond" and "Professional" stand out as anthems that solidified his status as a soca powerhouse. His dynamic stage presence and unique sound left an indelible mark on the Caribbean music landscape.

The sudden and untimely death of Ricardo Drue leaves fans, fellow artists, and the entire Antiguan/Barbudan community in mourning. As condolences pour in, the music industry has lost a talented performer, and the void left by his absence will be felt deeply by those who admired and loved his work.

He will be dearly missed: Patrice Roberts X Ricardo Drue - TOXIC LOVE (Performance Footage).
She is one of the most underrated Soca artists in Trinidad and Tobago. She is talented, a brilliant songwriter, and can paint a musical palette better than most of the better-known Soca artists that tour Europe and North America. Nadia constantly delivers music that is full of vibe and music that you can dance to with ease. This song is titled "I'm Yuh Lover'', and the way she sways to the music will make you fall in love with her all over again.

Xplicit Mevon, who is making a name for himself as one of Trinidad and Tobago's excellent producers, created the song. If you are looking for a carnival vibe, then try this song on replay. Over and over again, and trust me, it will never feel old. Kudos to all involved in the music production, with the likes of Duvonne Stewart on the steelpan along with a stellar cast of musicians (see production notes for details).

The video adds color and texture to a well-written song with excellent vocals by one of the best female vocalists in Caribbean music. We recommend this song.

At Sokah2Soca, we love to select and promote songs that stand out from the pack. Most of the time, all the credit goes to the artist, and nothing should be taken away from the artist in this song. Viking Ding Dong has grown and excelled year after year. Having said that, we applaud the creativity of the AdvoKit Production team while heaping praise on the songwriting team of Kitwana Israel, Jelani “Pops” Shaw, and Andre Houlder. Yes, we love this song and approve of it wholeheartedly.

The vibe of this song just feels good and places the listener in a J'ouvert morning space. Just close your eyes and listen to the song. Soak in the lyrics and immerse your auditory senses in this magical vibe that digs deep into the musical culture of Trinidad and Tobago. This just feels like 'a mash-up de place' vibe feting all night into J'Ouvert morning. No rest all night, then paint and powder to greet the sunrise. This is all about Mas; this is about our culture. Can you feel it?

We approve of this song; the lyrical content is on point, and the musical production just takes the production to a place where carnival dreams come true. When you listen to this song, you will subconsciously experience the culture and vibe of the Twin Island Republic, sweet Trinidad and Tobago. Kudos to all involved with this production.
