What is on the minds of today's DJs for Carnival 2025? We are about to find out, and today we start with Island Vybe Radio. Everyone is aware that a DJ must understand the vibes of a party crowd to deliver a set that will ignite the party. Having said that, we are in the mood for our DJs to curate a 'what are you feeling today' type of list. I asked our Island Vybe DJs to submit a list of their top 10 songs that they are currently enjoying.

To ensure consensus, I did not solicit the most popular songs from YouTube views, radio station requests, or even plays on popular music platforms. This pertains to the current preferences of the DJ. The DJ's preferences could shift tomorrow or with the release of new music.

Remember, the goal is not to compile a hit list (though that could happen if the DJ and the public share the same sentiments), but rather to gain insight into potential sources of hits. After all, in the realm of Soca music, DJs and radio stations serve as the primary sources for the next big song! So enjoy the compilation and share your feedback.

Listen up and take note; this is the song that is sweeping across the Caribbean basin currently. Let's begin with someone else, not myself, tonight: Love, hate, and indifference—where should I begin? Have you experienced extreme irritation from someone who should have been your ally and supporter? Well, if you are in this situation, we have a song for you! Today we are pleased to present a song, released for the summer of 2024, but a song that caught fire for the just-concluded Tobago carnival. Trinidad and Tobago, welcome to Bouyon music. The Dominican trio of Quan, LitleBoy, and Trilla-G has written and sung the song "Someone Else," which we are thrilled to spotlight.

LitleBoy produced "Someone Else," which is currently sweeping Trinidad and Tobago. With over four million plays on YouTube, "Someone Else" will relieve your stress that is weighing you down at home. In addition to conveying a genuine and emotional message, the song offers ample opportunities for laughter. After listening to the song, one would hope that when you look in the mirror, you think about the person you are taking for granted before casting them out. However, it's important to remember that the potential benefits may be fleeting.

"Someone Else" is a perfect blend of infectious beats and compelling lyrics, showcasing the unique style and energy that Bouyon music brings. Fans have responded positively to the song, making it one of the year's hottest tracks. This song embodies love and the problems associated with relationships. The Bouyon vibe elevates the song to a whole new level.

This hit is a testament to the growing influence and reach of Bouyon music, bringing a fresh and vibrant sound to the Soca scene. Listen to Quan, LitleBoy, and Trilla-G; they have truly excelled with this track, and we eagerly anticipate their next creations.

Are you ready for a mood changer? Are you ready to experience the future of Soca music as dictated by the younger generation of artists from Trinidad and Tobago? If yes, then you are in for a musical and pictorial treat. Today we are thrilled to feature the newly released video visualization for "In Dey" by Erphaan Alves and Nailah Blackman. Produced by Kes Keyz, the song is a game changer, showcasing what we determine to be the future of Soca music, a new generation of artists delivering a modern and unique style.

The video visualizer showcases the incredible energy and charisma of the artists packaged in vibrant music production. The song celebrates the spirit of Carnival, showcasing the culture of our people while encouraging everyone to dance and have a really enjoyable time. The production captures the right vibe, making it a noteworthy production as Carnival festivities increasingly replace Christmas celebrations in Trinidad and Tobago.

We discussed what the future holds for Soca music. Soca is now a brand, and the music is constantly changing. Of course, some may continue to adhere to the core beat of Lord Shorty, aka Ras Shoty I, but it has now become a marketing norm more than ever before. The younger artists, like Erphaan Alves and Nailah Blackman, along with creative music producers, are pushing the boundaries of the music and searching for that magic formula that will put Soca on music charts around the world, not just as "World Music" or under the banner of "Reggae," but as a unique name the world will come to respect.

So go ahead, enjoy the work of these young and talented singers, and celebrate the body of work they stand on today. We applaud those who are pushing the genre and striving to create a new and lasting footprint for Soca music. This collaboration is a testament to the new generation of Soca artists who are pushing the boundaries of the genre and bringing something truly special to the table. Don't miss out on this electrifying track—it's the future of Soca! Please follow up with your comments. We can't wait to hear from you!
