"Jab Decisions" by V'ghn x Terra D Governor kicks is the banger we were waiting on for Spicemas 2025. This song is chaotic, and every Grenadian knows that when it comes to Spicemas, there’s no such thing as a bad decision—only Jab Decisions.  This movement embraces reckless behavior, willingly making 'bad decisions' and turning them into jab decisions as an excuse for carnival fun. This song transforms reckless behavior into a delightful carnival experience.

Someone came up with a brilliant idea: reimagine the track as a lyrical interpretation of the phrase "bad decisions," which, in the realm of Jab Soca, are integral parts of the tradition. Indulging in rum drinking and feting like there is no tomorrow brings out an element of Grenadian culture that the rest of the Caribbean cannot match.

V'ghn's smooth delivery complements Terra D Governor's raw energy, evoking a dynamic contrast reflecting the wild yet intentional, messy yet meaningful Jab experience. Furthermore, the fusion of music and songwriting skills in this song has the potential to become a Soca hit for Spicemas 2025.

Carnival Jab-loving revelers, adorned with cow-horned helmets, tared devils and rhythms that pulse like a heartbeat under blue skies and tropical Grenadian sunshine, are not just a party starter but a cultural statement. Jab Decisions has already established itself at Sokah2Soca, and we anticipate that this song will be a hit at fetes and on repeat at radio stations during most summer carnivals in 2025.

At Sokah2Soca, we salute this unapologetic celebration of Jab culture. When the drums call, horns howl and chains rattle, the streets ignite, and trust us,  every Soca decision is right.

While sitting at my keyboard and looking at my computer screen, I listened to "Bacchanal Lady" by V'ghn x Tano playing in the background. I contemplated the idea of reposting this song since Spicemas is on the cusp of exploding for Carnival 2025! And here we are... Despite Grenada being the undisputed home of Jab Soca, Groove Soca remains vibrant and seductively melodic, particularly when V'ghn takes the mic. Known for his honeyed vocals and smooth delivery, V’ghn has once again proven that groove is not just a genre—it’s a feeling.

Released in December 2024, Bacchanal Lady arrived just in time to stir the vibes for Trinidad and Carriacou Carnival. While the summer heat of Spicemas 2025 is dominated by the raw energy of Jab Soca, this track dares to slow the tempo and seduce the soul. Produced by Tano, the song is a masterclass in restraint and rhythm, offering a melodic counterpoint to the frenzy of the season.

At Sokah2Soca, the horizon was visible, and Bacchanal Lady was aiming for the stars. It’s a reminder that groove soca isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving. With its sweet music production by Tano and V’ghn’s signature vocal finesse, this track deserves prime-time airplay and a place on every Spicemas playlist.

We approve of this message. And we’re dancing to it.

There was a gentler time before the rhythms accelerated and the BPMs escalated. This was a time when wit, wisdom, and melody intertwined, allowing our culture to express itself through double entendres, social commentary, and unforgettable melody lines.

Tonight, Mr. Desmond dims the lights and cues up the calypso classics—the anthems that made us laugh, made us think, and gave our people a powerful voice long before the internet amplified anything. The talent of singers such as "The Mighty Sparrow" is truly remarkable! Lord Kitchener, with his elegance and charm, paints lyrical portraits of life in T&T. The bards have left their cultural legacy in three-minute masterpieces. It is time to dust off those LP classics and signal to the world that Deso x Sokah2Soca is on a mission to bring back all those missed Calypso classics... You're welcome!

Each piece was music with a message—sometimes playful, sometimes piercing, always poetic. These sounds told us who we were, what we valued, and why we danced even in difficult times. My favorite segment on part one is the Singing Francine medley—just awesome! ?

Please share the post to help us build this calypso community, and then join us as we look back, reminisce, and enjoy some really sweet calypso music. So pour yourself something smooth. Let the brass swell and the rhythms roll. Whether you know every lyric or you’re just discovering the magic, tonight we celebrate the artform that started it all. It’s Calypso time. The foundation. The soul. The brilliance.
