We may find ourselves on the losing end of this conversation, keeping in mind that the phrase "The Emperor has no clothes" may be applicable here. It's Friday, and Soca music conversations are the talk of the day. As a matter of fact, conversations are brewing regarding the newly released album titled "Big Links Riddim." Full Blown Entertainment produced the album. The production features Machel "Monk" Montano, Kes of Kes the Band, Yung Bredda, and Full Blown. We are impressed with the new music but blown away by the unearthed talent of Yung Bredda.
During a brief conversation on the island Vybe WhatsApp feed, we discussed the songs, particularly Yung Bredda's offering. While we all hold different opinions about the music, we unanimously expressed our admiration for Yung Bredda's song, "The Greatest Bend Over"—some consider it the standout track on the album! What a switch! Where did this version of Yung Bredda come from? Nikki G of Nikki G Media had this to say: "Fresh ideas and a young, bold-minded individual with talent!" Need we say more? Yung Bredda's new sound is quite impressive, and yes, we are heaping praise on this music release.
People widely recognize Yung Bredda for his well-known "What are you doing?" and high-pitched voiceovers. For that reason, some listeners argue that Yung Bredda's latest track lacks the depth and authenticity found in his earlier work. Critics suggest that the shift in style may cater more to commercial appeal than to his original artistic vision. We disagree! It is clear that his artistry has evolved, presenting another side of his talent.
The artists' fans will love every song on this album. The album's music captures the essence of "The Carnival Effect," exudes infectious energy, and embodies the essence of Soca. Here is my ranking of the songs featured on the Big Links Riddim. "Good Spirits" by Full Blown is my personal favorite; it perfectly blends uplifting lyrics with a vibrant melody that makes it impossible not to dance.
1. Good Spirits by Full Blown
2. The Greatest Bend Over by Yung Bredda
3. No Sweetness, by Kes.
4. The Truth by Machel Montano
Others have switched numbers 1 and 2, but 3 and 4 have consistently remained the same. The truth is that media will rate Kes and Machel above all others, and radio stations, along with most DJs, are most likely to play Kes and Machel's songs. Kes and Machel's market value and large fan bases justify their ratings. In my humble but subjective opinion, neither Kes's nor Machel's song deserves a higher rating than those of the lesser-known artists on this album. Currently, Kes is leading the way on YouTube, with Machel trailing behind. The plays are 2 to 1 in favor of Kes.
After considering the pros and cons, our opinion may not hold much weight. Your opinion is what matters most. We have listed all four songs in the order of our preference. Please listen to the songs, then share your preferences with us to see if we are on the same "musical page"! Your observations might help us better understand how our likes match or diverge. We're excited to hear your opinions and learn about the distinct viewpoints you contribute to the conversation!

Following the release of Machel Montano's "No Truth," Kes from 'Kes the Band' releases his latest single, 'No Sweetness." Kes seems to know what the ladies like, and for this song, the writers have boldly proclaimed that they have the answer to making the ladies feel 'just right.' Kes' fans always get excited when he releases new music, as they do with most of his releases. Well, is this song going to be the one to lay claim to the "Big Links Riddim" album? As of this writing, it appears to be gaining likes on a 2-to-1 basis compared to MM's song.
The smooth style of this riddim perfectly complements Kes' singing style. The song is a delightful blend of music and Kes' unique ability to connect with his fans. This song is sure to get couples dancing on the dance floor. It is not a banger per se but one that could become a favorite for smaller carnival parties. We are not sure it will have the same impact on the fête circuit.
Produced by Full Blown Entertainment and written by Kes, along with Kevon and Kory Hart, "No Sweetness" is all about the joy of carnival and relationships, temporary and permanent, formed during this season of party, fêting, and love. There is nothing better than the sweet island vibe experienced during Carnival. We are sure most Soca music lovers will find favor with this song.
So, as you prepare for Carnival 2025, you can look forward to the sweet carnival-style melodies and infectious rhythms that "No Sweetness" brings. This track not only captures the essence of the celebration but also serves as a reminder to hold on to and cherish the connections we make during this feting season, making every moment of the carnival truly unforgettable. Prepare to have fun, party, and share good times, and make sure that "No Sweetness" by D'Girls Dem Dahlin' aka Kes is one of the songs that gets you ready for this carnival season. Enjoy positive music vibes.

Have you listened to Machel Montano's recently released Soca track, "The Truth"? For this new music release, MM is aspiring to be a truth teller with heartfelt lyrics and a very captivating vibe.
As we navigate life and strive to strengthen our love relationships, we may find a smooth path with few obstacles, or we may encounter a challenging period that becomes burdensome. Machel's aspirational lyrics, co-written by Kevon Hart, Kory Hart, and MM, attempt to seek a path of least resistance. This song may resonate well with male listeners, but the ladies may have a lot to add to this storyline!
The song is a production of "Full Blown Entertainment" and recorded by Klase Gonzales at "Baby Monster Studio" in Trinidad. Machel's signature singing style informs both the music production and the laid-back vocals.
As we look forward to new music releases, the "Big Links Riddim" album has something for everyone. Machel's fans would surely appreciate this smoother side of their favorite artist, aka the King of Soca. Machel is striving to compensate for the absence of Soca in his previous carnival performance. Yes, he won the Calypso Monarch title, but he is all about Soca. This year, he is releasing new music for every fan, including Groove and Power Soca.
So, press play, listen, and tell us if you 'feel' MM's latest music release. Please share your thoughts using the comment feature of this post. Machel loves Soca music, and "The Truth" shows his dedication and talent continue to shine brightly.

The man with the sweet, sexy voice has released something special for Carnival 2025 in Trinidad and Tobago. Who is the man? Teddyson John, hailing from Saint Lucia, has recently released his latest music titled "Sweetest Feeling." Everything Teddyson releases has a sexy feel to it, and this song is no different. The album "Tamboo Rown Riddim" features an uptempo vibe in this song. Teddy's signature singing style shines brightly and delivers on the promise of bringing feel-good music for his fans and Soca music lovers all over. We definitely approve of this song.
The songwriting team of Anthony Chow Lin-On, Keelan Callender, and Devon "Lyrikal" Martin knew what they were doing. They understood the singer and penned lyrics that are characteristic of Teddyson John. Rishi Mahato at Maha Productions produced, mixed, and mastered the work. This is a well-thought-out process. Kudos to all concerned. We believe that this song is going to be a requested track for parties throughout the rest of this year, next year, and for years to come. The song spells good feelings and sexy interactions and takes you on a joyful journey of love and celebration.
So, as you prepare for Carnival 2025 and as you curate and prepare your carnival playlist for 2025, make sure that Teddyson John's "Sweetest Feeling" is on that list. This is one of the songs that will bring joy to your spirit. Whether you're experiencing a difficult day, in a romantic mood with someone you love, or simply driving on the highway, "Sweetest Feeling" will elevate your experience, bringing joy and happiness to your moment. We love it; we approve of this sweetest feeling that Teddysong gave to us. Now, press play and enjoy vocal excellence and musical niceness!
