If you are looking for a song to lift your spirits and make you feel light as a feather, look no further than Nadia Batson's latest Soca release, "Feather". This upbeat and catchy tune is perfect for the Carnivals in 2024, as it celebrates the joy of letting go of your worries and dancing your troubles away.
The lyrics of "Feather" were written by Nadia Batson herself, along with Don Iko, who also produced the track with XplicitMevon. The song is a testament to Nadia's versatility and talent as a singer, songwriter, and performer. She delivers the message of the song with her powerful and soulful voice, while Don Iko's production adds a fresh and modern twist to the traditional Soca sound.
"Feather" is a song that will make you want to jump, wave, and whine to the rhythm of the music. It is a song that will inspire you to embrace your freedom and happiness and to share it with others. It is a song that will make you feel like a feather. ?

"Wassy" by Full Blown is more than just a song; it's a musical journey that blends the soulful essence of Calypso with the vibrant, energetic spirit of Soca. Born in the sun-kissed paradise of Trinidad and Tobago, this vibe, which we aptly dubbed SoCalypso, dances to its own delightful rhythm, infused with the spirit of both traditions.
From the opening notes, it's clear this is no ordinary Caribbean offering. The music shimmers with a unique duality, balancing Calypso's relaxed, storytelling charm with the pulsating grooves and smooth vibe of a groove Soca beat. Idaey Asanga's saxophone weaves a sweet melody, painting warm strokes of soul onto the canvas of the rhythm section.
Full Blown's vocals are the anchor of this sonic voyage. Smooth and effortless, they glide over the music, paying homage to the rich heritage of Calypso and its undeniable power to bring people together. The lyrics are a love letter to the music itself, celebrating its ability to uplift, heal, and ignite joy. Credit Full Blown and the excellence of Winsford Devine for the lyrics. Every line is steeped in the cultural tapestry of the Caribbean, resonating with a deep understanding and respect for the tradition.
Production-wise, "Wassy" is a masterpiece of sonic fusion. Full Blown Entertainment, Tano, and Kyle Peters expertly blend the warmth of Calypso with a Groove Soca vibe, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new. The final touch comes from Stephen 'StG' Abenga's mixing and mastering, ensuring every note shines perfectly.

Soca music, a genre of Caribbean music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago, is known for its upbeat tempo, catchy melodies, and infectious rhythms. Soca music is often accompanied by vocals that usually express themes of love, celebration, and social commentary.
However, DJ Private Ryan, a popular Trinidadian DJ, and producer, decided to experiment with a different approach to soca music. He collaborated with André J Donawa, a talented violinist and composer, to create a soca instrumental that features a smooth violin performance. Credit also goes to percussionist/producer, Keshav, who also co-produced this song. For this post, we present "No Strings Attached": A Soca Instrumental with a Violin Twist.
The song, titled “No Strings Attached," was released on December 20, 2023, for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 Carnival. It is part of DJ Private Ryan’s album “The Magic Touch Project." The song showcases Donawa’s skillful and expressive violin playing, which adds a layer of sophistication and elegance to the soca beat. The song also has a dynamic structure, with changes in tempo, intensity, and mood.
The song will surely receive positive feedback from Soca fans and music critics. At Sokah2Soca, we praise the originality and creativity of the song. Some have even compared the song to classical music, noting the similarities in the use of the violin and the musical composition.
“No Strings Attached” is a song that demonstrates the versatility and diversity of Soca music, as well as the talent and innovation of DJ Private Ryan and André J Donawa. The song is refreshing and enjoyable to listen to, and it is a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and genres.

If you are looking for a song that will make you want to dance and feel the heat of the carnival, then you need to check out Spirit Waist by Mela Caribe and Olatunji. This is a groove Soca music release for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 Carnival, produced by the talented DJ Private Ryan. The song is a perfect blend of catchy lyrics, infectious music, and sensual vocals.
The song tells the story of a male and female duo who meet at a party and are instantly attracted to each other. The girl is a gifted whiner who hypnotizes the male with her dancing technique, which he calls "spirit waist whining". She is so good that he can't take his eyes off her and he begs her to stay with him. The lyrics emphasize the teasing from the female and the total adoration from the male, creating a playful and flirty dynamic.
The music is a chest-pounding bass with a very danceable groove Soca music style that could only come from the musical genius that is DJ Private Ryan. The music complements the lyrics and the vocals, creating a smooth and sexy vibe that exudes foreplay on the dance floor. The music also has some elements of Afrobeat and dancehall, adding some diversity and flavor to the song.
The production is excellent, polished, and professional. The song sounds crisp and clear, and the mix is well-balanced. The song also has a music video, which you can watch on YouTube. The video features Mela Caribe and Olatunji as the main characters and some dancers and extras. The video captures the essence of the song, showing the chemistry between the singers and the energy of the party.
My personal impression of the song is that it is a hit. I am totally sold with this production, the teasing lyrical content, the sexy vibe from both singers and the music that makes me want to move. Mela Caribe and Olatunji are both amazing artists, and they complement each other very well. They have great voices, charisma, and style. The actors in the music video were also excellent, and they portrayed the story of the song very well.
Spirit Waist by Mela Caribe and Olatunji is a song that I recommend to anyone who loves Soca music, or who wants to experience the carnival spirit. This is a song that will make you feel good, and that will make you want to dance with someone. This is a song that will stay in your playlist for a long time. This is a song that I love. ?
