Mical became entangled in Melda's wedding plans, and now he is experiencing severe Tabanca symptoms. "Oh, Lord Fadda, please intervene and Jahray this young man!" That was just for fun, but Mical Teja's talent is exceptional. This might be the only occasion in which Tabanca's success can be considered positive. With the release of this song, Carnival fans are in for a musical treat.
Teja has done it again; he has taken a snippet of a classic Calypso and created a musical gem for Carnival 2025. Last carnival season, Teja transformed Explainer's classic "Lorraine" into "Runaway," and for Carnival 2025, he tackled Sparrow's "Obeah Wedding" to create the musical masterpiece "Tabanca."
We have a positive feeling that this song is going to become a hit for Carnival 2025 in Trinidad & Tobago. The highlights of the song are the catchy lyrics, excellent vocal delivery, and very danceable music. "Tabanca," written and produced by Mical Teja and Tano, with additional production from Kyle Peters, sets the standard for excellent Soca music suitable for the upcoming carnival festivities. One of my favorite female Soca artists, Miss Terri Lyons, added her sweet voice and singing style to the background vocals. What else can I say or dare I say it here: This song is going to be a hit for upcoming carnival fetes. We love it! Please share your thoughts after listening to the song.

This one is for Chutney Soca music lovers across the Caribbean, North America, and yes, even across the pond! Today we feature new music from the very talented Devika Ram. The song's title is "I doh wah yuh, no more. While falling in love and initiating a relationship can be exhilarating, it can also turn toxic, cause pain, and fall short of expectations. However, in the end, ending a relationship may prove to be a hidden blessing.
The renowned Pungalunks Factory produced, mixed, and mastered this song, with Big Rich taking the lead. Big Rich crafted this song in a profound and laid-back style, aiming to convey the message with genuine emotion. Despite the vocals' "I am hurting inside" vibe, Big Rich is incredibly serious and desires your departure from her life.
Chutney Soca fans, particularly many ladies, will appreciate this song, as it serves as a powerful message to an abusive lover who has taken the relationship for granted. After you listen to the song, please share your thoughts on social media and in this post.

This is one to watch, Mr. Selecta! Pay attention to this song titled "Bye Bye" by Miguel Maestre, produced by the talented Rich “Shan” Persad in Toronto, Canada. This is one to watch and could become an anthem for Carnival 2025 in Trinidad and Tobago.
Miguel Maestre, for those who don't know, was born in Toronto to Trinidadian parents. His DNA contains the Soca culture gene! His music and dual cultural heritage blend the essence of Trinidad and Toronto. This song celebrates the essence of our carnival spirit and Toronto's diverse music culture. There is no negativity; rather, there are only positive vibrations. Ultimately, there is only positive energy. Therefore, let us join Miguel in saying, "Goodbye" to those who harbor animosity. We promote positive vibes, and yes, we just love this song!
The collaboration of talents that produced "Bye Bye" bodes well for Miguel, with music produced by Rich "Shan" Persad. Together, they channeled the energy of their Caribbean heritage to create an infectious song with catchy lyrics and an upbeat tempo, destined to become a carnival anthem for music fans across the Caribbean carnival circuit.
Soca music now has an international flavor; artists from the Caribbean and North America are producing music that drives the carnival engine, ushering in a new era in which Soca is now an all-year phenomenon. It is not just carnival music anymore; now it is music that the rest of the world can enjoy anytime and anywhere. "Bye Bye" should perform well for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, as well as for Brooklyn and Miami Carnival this year.
So, as we dance and celebrate the remainder of 2024, we can now groove to the beat of the future. Say "Bye Bye" to the summer of 2024 and welcome to fall. Trinidad Carnival will be hopping to the beat of "Bye Bye" by Miguel Maestre. This should be the first of many good songs from this talented artist, and we can look forward to more excellent music from this talented Soca star.
So, as you prepare for Trinidad Carnival 2025, make sure "Bye Bye" is on your playlist. Let the music take you on a journey, experiencing the magic of Carnival through the sounds of Miguel Maestre and Rich “Shan” Persad.
