Machel Montano, the King of Soca, graced the stage at Calypso Fiesta 2024 with an electrifying and spirited performance. As the crowd gathered under the Caribbean sun, Montano’s presence radiated energy and anticipation. Machel's years of experience headling major Soca shows shone brightly as he took command of the stage. His performance and comfort level surpassed the expectations of those who came to witness the event. He was in command and he should be in the finals.

With a nod to tradition and innovation, Montano seamlessly blended the worlds of Calypso and Soca. His performance was a testament to his musical prowess and the evolution of Caribbean rhythms. As the first notes resonated through the air, he reminded everyone why he still wears the crown as the premiere draw for Soca and soon Calypso music.

“Soul of Calypso," his latest creation, served as the centerpiece. The song paid homage to the roots of Soca, weaving in the heartbeat of Calypso. Montano’s vocals soared, capturing the essence of both genres. And then, like a magician revealing a hidden card, he introduced the unmistakable Soca beat. The crowd erupted, dancing and singing along, swept up in the magic of the moment.

Montano’s performance was more than entertainment; it was a declaration. He stood there, commanding the stage, and with each beat, he reaffirmed his title as the King of Soca. The fusion of old and new, tradition and innovation, left an indelible mark on the audience—a reminder that the spirit of Calypso lives on, carried forward by the one and only Machel Montano.
