This is new music from Nailah Blackman for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 carnival. Oh my, "Round and Rosie" will never have the same meaning after this song destroys feting in sweet TnT. Children loved playing Round and Rosie 'back in the day, but today's version takes the cake! This song puts men on the defensive, and if you don't know what we are talking about, just listen to the song!
This carnival will expose in song what everyone is aware of: men will have to compete with women to get a whine on a woman. Many women simply love the vibe they get from other women when feting. After all, there is something very sensual about a woman whining at a fete. Guys, good luck, because other women are looking too.
Nailah is putting men on notice, and her music video says it all. This song will surely impact feting for Carnival 2024. We love the vibe and expect this song to become very popular for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 carnival. Nice...

No disrespect to all other Soca artists out there; there is no one who can call the game the way it is played, like Bunji Garlin. "Tell Yuh Mudda Now" is a wake-up call to the path to living a proud and respectful life. Truth be told! The song is an energetic and catchy Soca track that celebrates freedom and self-expression.
The lyrics encourage listeners to be confident and unapologetic but not disrespectful, and to not let anyone tell them what they can or cannot do. The song is also a call to action, urging people to stand up for themselves and fight for what they believe in. This is not a case of just doing it like the Nike ad says, but doing it in such a way that you stand firm while uplifting your fellow man. The bottom line is that one should own up to the mistakes we make in life... confession is good for the soul. Life is sweet, and Bunji is telling us the way it should be lived.
The upbeat tempo and infectious melody make this song a perfect party anthem, while the message of empowerment is sure to resonate with listeners of all ages. Stand tall, feel proud, live your life, and fulfill your place on this journey of life.

Once again, Chuck Gordon has struck a musical note that will resonate well with those interested in songs for the steelpan. Then again, this Soca music release is a little different musically. They call it 'Jiggy Calypso' but it is just more Calypso than Soca. The song is titled D'Panyard and is Chucky's first release for Carnival 2024.
D'Panyard is a musical gem and is a tribute to the panyard, which is a community space where steelpan players practice and perform. As carnival approaches, panyards across Trinidad and Tobago come alive, with crowds gathering every night to get a taste of the song of choice and music arrangement for the Panorama competition. This song is a tribute to and a celebration of the joy and unity that can be found in the panyard.
Chucky is spitting musical notes and singing about the "sweet strains of stick on steel" that fill the air at the panyard. He also describes the "masses" who follow the drums to the panyard to "support their favorite sides" or just "engage in our most treasured pastime, liming." This is a well-crafted song, and kudos go out to all those responsible for the production and final product, especially Damien "Crazy D" Preston of DP Productions. We love this song!
