Carnival can be a real carnival, and yes, "Carnival is Fun," and if you did not know this, Skinny Banton featuring Easy B on the track will explain it all. Spice Mas and Mas in Carriacou have real flavor, with two carnivals each year. Carriacou has its carnival at the same time as Trinidad (the traditional Christian calendar mas) and the summer festival Spice Mas each year. Skinny Banton always delivers high-quality music, and his latest release has a vibe. We love it! If you are not familiar with the artist, we have some relevant information you will find helpful (subject to corrections).

Shame on us; we have not posted any Chutney Soca for some time, except the songs on the sidebar playlist. The fact remains that we have not done a blog post on any of the upcoming Chutney Soca songs. I was disheartened when most Chutney Soca songs were Bollywood-inspired. As a result, I ignored the chutney-related songs. Local content is the ideal soundtrack for this blog. We don't want Bollywood remakes. So today we are posting a 'silly song', a fun song, but we chose the remix version featuring Jairam Dindial and GI. We hope you like this song, "D Cow Kick Down the Bucket of Milk".

Look what we've got for Friday's musical entertainment! This is new music out of Trinidad and Tobago and the song is titled "Rum and Calypso". No, not "Rum and Coca-Cola" but "Rum and Calypso"! This is excellent timing because we love to start the weekend right. Starting it with seriously enjoyable original music is an excellent way to start the weekend right.
The featured artist is Jimmy October, he is known for his soulful vocals and catchy melodies. October was born L'shun Emmanuel in East Trinidad, and he began singing at a young age. He is one of the most popular soca artists out of Trinidad and Tobago, and he is known for his soulful live performances.
From what we hear on this track, "this pretty gyal wah rum and calypso" seems like the right sentiment as we approach Philadelphia's carnival weekend. Some 'rum and Soca music' is guaranteed, but authentic Calypso music can also set the mood for an enjoyable party event. We party and drink rum, and for older folks, Calypso music makes the event feel right. Jimmy October's latest music release caters to the younger generation, and no one will complain about that fact. After all is said and done, old and young will appreciate this song. As a result, we hope that good music can be appreciated, and this one is a great example of that.
The song was produced by Tano & Brooklyn Decent, and it features October's signature smooth vocals and catchy melodies. The lyrics are about celebrating the Caribbean culture and lifestyle, and they are sure to get you up and dancing.
Jimmy October is a talented singer-songwriter who has made a significant impact on the soca music scene. He is a rising star in the music industry, and he is sure to continue to achieve great success in the years to come. If you're looking for a song that will get you moving and make you feel good, then "Rum & Calypso" is the perfect choice for you. It's a feel-good anthem that celebrates the Caribbean culture and lifestyle.

Please be advised that even though the title of this tune reads "Eff Away," the person performing uses the raw lyrics. Please don't play this song in front of minors. This is meant for adults only.
Yes, I know you may react and state that the young ones are aware of these words and are exposed to the crass culture while associating with their peers. However, that is no excuse for us to take everything for granted and drop our guard. We can walk and chew gum at the same time, can't we?
So today, we present a song entitled "Eff Away," sung by Supa Mario, for Antigua's Carnival 2023. While we may have different views on the choice of words used here, one can surely understand and appreciate the message from the songwriter and singer. No one likes two-faced, so-called friends and acquaintances.
The message is right in your face, but the vibe is solid. This is a production of Lyon Roar Productions. We really like the song, the message, and the music but are apprehensive about the choice of lyrics to deliver the message. Hey, sometimes you have to be raw to make a point. Good luck with this music production, guys!
