It feels like Carnival day instead of Christmas day as Power Soca music releases are coming on stream for Carnival 2025. The bacchanal is now gearing up as Boxing day takes hold of Trinidad and Tobago. So here we go and our advise is that you should get ready to feel the power and energy of the newly released Soca song "Road Meeting" featuring the dynamic duo Fay Ann Lyons and Syri Lyons, produced by the talented Travis World. This track is specifically created for the highly anticipated 'Road Wars'—the message is clear Fay Ann has written a song to wear out sneakers come carnival Monday and Tuesday. Are you ready for to start the bacchanal?

"Road Meeting" is a fast-paced, high-energy Soca anthem that promises to ignite the streets and get everyone moving. With its infectious beats and powerful vocals, this song is set to be a major contender in the Road March competition. Fay Ann Lyons has called upon and introduced the Soca loving public to Syri Lyons, the apple (lets say ripe mango) "doh fall far from the tree". They brought their A-game to this production, delivering electrifying vibe that will lead to memorable performances that capture the true spirit of Carnival. We will collectively witness history in the making.

The collaboration between these artists, combined with Travis World's expert production, makes "Road Meeting" a standout track that you won't be able to resist. The true Road Wars have begun, and we can't wait to see how this song performs on the road!

It's Christmas Day, and Parang music is sounding off all over Trinidad and Tobago today. We have a special gift for the people of Trinidad and Tobago all the way from Central America. Dulkfya, a singer from Panama, sent this song to Sokah2Soca for posting. After listening to the song, I was thrilled to do this today. From the moment the music starts, you will know the song, but there is a new infused vibe that brings new life to the song.

So here we go: We are thrilled to introduce you to the enchanting song "Chica Latina" by Panamanian singer Dulkfyah Garcia. This track is a captivating cover of the beloved Trinidadian classic "Spanish Woman" by Baron. Dulkfyah's rendition brings a fresh, vibrant twist to the original, seamlessly blending Soca rhythms with Spanish influences.

Dulkfyah Garcia possesses a distinct ability to blend Soca music with a Spanish influence, and "Chica Latina" exemplifies both his passion for Soca and his musical prowess. The song beautifully celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of the Caribbean, and we consider it a heartfelt gift to the many Venezuelans living in Trinidad and Tobago today.

With its infectious beats and soulful lyrics, "Chica Latina" is sure to resonate with listeners, bridging cultural divides and bringing people together through the universal language of music.

Baron - Spanish Woman (Live) at Kes We Home - Under One Roof

Today, we're celebrating the top 10 Parang Soca and Soca Parang songs played on WACK Radio 90.1 FM! The countdown was originally for the top 50 songs of all time, but we're highlighting the top 10 for you. These vibrant tunes capture the essence of our culture and bring people together during the festive season. Stay tuned as we dive into the rhythms and melodies that have defined Parang Soca and Soca Parang, making them beloved staples in our celebrations!

Dedicated listeners sent in numerous lists from which we selected these songs. Mr. Kenny Phillips, CEO of WACK Radio and owner of KMP Music, curated the final compilation. His expertise in curating music ensured that the collection not only reflected the diverse tastes of the audience but also highlighted memorable classic hits. This carefully crafted playlist promises to resonate with fans old and new and will hopefully create a memorable listening experience.

Kenny Phillips and Tony Prescott, the legendary Soca artist and radio presenter of "All Aboard" fame, were featured in the radio station countdown. They shared stories and engaged in conversation with several callers, offering their insights on the song selections and chart position. As the countdown reached its climax, listeners were treated to a raucous laughter and a final outpouring of joy that the countdown was done but also celebrated the enormous talent that Trinidad and Tobago offers to the world.

Now before you get into the music and the song listing, the question you may be asking is as follows: What is Soca Parang, and how is it different from Parang Soca? We aim to provide the following information to aid your understanding:
Parang Music is the mother of both Soca Parang and Parang Soca. We introduced modern electronic instruments alongside the traditional Parang instruments and created a style of Parang music with a strong Soca vibe via the electronic bass guitar. Soca Parang features the Soca music bass leading the vibe, while Parang Soca relies on the traditional Parang rhythm as the foundation for the music.

Here are the top 10 Parang Soca songs that made the cut, starting at 10 and working top down to number 1:
  • 10. Bring  Out The  Ham - Marcia Miranda
  • 09. Black Cake and Sorrel - Mastermind Productions
  • 08. The Paint Brush - Kenny J
  • 07. Madame Jeffery - Scrunter
  • 06. Leroy - Scrunter
  • 05. Muchacha - Crazy
  • 04. Soca Santa - Machel Montano x Daisy Voison
  • 03. Trini Christmas Is The Best - Susan Macio
  • 02. Spanish Woman - Baron
  • 01. Come Go - Baron
This incredible collection features some very special songs, with a few of the singers no longer with us, but their music will never be forgotten. These tracks continue to bring joy and festive vibes to everyone, keeping the spirit of Parang Soca alive and well. Do you agree with this list? What are some of your favorite Parang Soca songs? I absolutely agree with this list! It's amazing how music can transcend time and keep cultural traditions vibrant.
