When the music hits you... you feel it in your core! When it comes to sweet Soca music, "Show Off" checks all the boxes for us... the vibe, the lyrics and that something that just makes you want to groove to the music. Yes, this is what we like and we appreciate songs that don’t just play—they captivate! We love music that makes you feel the rhythm, embrace the energy, and surrender to the moment. This music release sure tickled my fancy—"Show Off by Miguel Maestre featuring TheFreshMen is exactly that kind of track.

There is magic in the production and in the team assembled to make this all happen: kudos to the producer, Rich "Shan" Persad for a job well done, well executed. The intoxicating groove of "Show Off", which effortlessly blends pulsating bass and melodic finesse, captivated us from the very first beat. Miguel Maestre’s signature vocal delivery is rich with confidence, while TheFreshMen amplify the sensuality, creating a sonic experience that is pure musical bliss. Shades of GBM Nutron echo from the vocals. We love it all.

The lyrics, written by Miguel Maestre, Rich “Shan” Persad and Jaydon Locke-Herbert, make this song shine. "Show Off" invites you to unleash your confidence, move with passion, and exude undeniable energy. It’s the type of track that urges you to step onto the floor, embrace the rhythm, and simply lose yourself in the moment. "Show Off" lyrically shows what is possible and showcases a deep understanding of what makes soca music not just enjoyable, but downright irresistible.

The entire production team deserves commendation for their work. "Show Off," recorded at Room2 Studio in Toronto and released under Maestre Music, exemplifies modern soca’s ability to evolve while remaining true to its roots. This style of soca—distinct from Power Soca—has the potential to capture an international audience. While Power Soca certainly has its place in the Carnival scene, it is songs like "Show Off" that will elevate Soca music to the global stage, reminiscent of tracks like "Turn Me On" by Kevin Lyttle.

This is the kind of soca we champion at Sokah2Soca—music that elevates spirits, energizes bodies, and creates an atmosphere of pure euphoria. Miguel Maestre and TheFreshMen have crafted a track that’s impossible to overlook, and we’re excited to enjoy every moment of it! So go ahead, press play, and allow "Show Off" to deliver on its promise!

He is not waiting for the next carnival and has released a new song! Titled "Vitamin D," this track caters to the younger generation. It features a cheeky vibe that some will love while others may scorn, especially when they figure out what vitamin D really signifies.

In terms of music and atmosphere, this song is likely to resonate well within today’s Caribbean music scene. We would love to hear your thoughts on the new music release.

The Top 10 list conveys a sense of finality and features songs that are widely recognized as hitmakers. While the selections on this list are popular, some are favorites from Carnival 2025, and the list may not accurately represent the true top 10 songs currently resonating on the ground. So, what songs are heating radio play in Trinidad and Tobago as charted by COTT (Copyright Organization of Trinidad and Tobago)? We have listed them below and included a YouTube playlist for your listening pleasure. This Top 10 list reflects the songs that program directors across various radio stations have deemed most played—not necessarily the biggest trending hits, but a snapshot of what’s dominating the airwaves.

As mentioned, this list doesn’t necessarily reflect the top movers or trending songs in the country; instead, it offers an overview of what is receiving consistent radio play. It remains uncertain whether the plays are driven by listener requests or if program directors are selecting tracks they believe will engage audiences. However, one thing is clear: if you’re vibing to the sweet melodies of KES, feeling the energy of Machel Montano, or getting lost in the rhythm of Bunji Garlin, there’s no doubt that Soca continues to reign supreme! We just wish there were a better method for charting the "Top 10 songs."

Top 10 Soca Radio Plays for Week Ending 05/14/2025, as per COTT Charting:
  1. Bamcie—Yung Bredda x Added Rankin
  2. Good Spirits—Full Blown
  3. Cocoa Tea—Kes x Tano
  4. Take Me Home—Freetown Collective
  5. Party—Machel Montano

  7. Carry It—Bunji Garlin x Stemz
  8. Jamtown—Coutain x Tano

This is a first for Sokah2Soca; today, we present some songs that are making waves on the French island of St. Maarten. Our goal is to showcase all the new Soca music and artists from across the region. Many sites that report on Soca music often fail to keep up with the abundance of music from the diaspora. We began by highlighting the top 10 songs from major Soca-producing countries across the Caribbean region. Today, we bring you a different vibe, featuring several Bouyon songs alongside sweet Soca music.

This will not be a one-time post. We will continue to monitor countries with Soca music and highlight it on an ongoing basis. Today, we express our gratitude to Largeradio and, more importantly, SmalliSlandMassive for curating a list of trending songs, which they refer to as "Drive Time Picks."

Please note that Large Radio is one of the stations included in our Soca Radio Station list. You can access that list of radio stations by clicking here: By clicking here, you can view that list of radio stations:  Top Soca Music Radio Stations: Where to Listen to the Best Caribbean Beats.

We encourage you to tune in and enjoy the vibrant sounds of Soca music, as it brings the energy and spirit of the Caribbean right to your speakers. Finally, tell us what you think about the songs presented for this post and what others you want us to feature. Now press play and enjoy the YouTube-listed songs.
