Pull Over by General Grant | Soca 2024

Is this really the original "General Grant"? Oh, absolutely, and it was a pleasant surprise for us here at Sokah2Soca. Wow, what a surprise from General Grant and Julio Productionz. I got caught off-guard and had to look again to make sure the artist was indeed General Grant. We really enjoyed listening to this one.

The Nu Swing Riddim has a smooth vibe. We really like this production, and the real surprise is General Grant's vocal work. Mr. Energizer stepped aside from his reggae/dancehall rap skill set and delivered a really enjoyable Soca music release.

If you are searching for upcoming Soca music for carnivals in 2024 and find this song, we think you will add it to your 2024 playlist. Add it not because it is labeled 2024 Soca, but because the song has a sweet vibe, the vocals are well done, and the lyrical content has a nice punch. We love this music release because it sounds and feels good!

Released for Spicemas 2023, this is "Entering Greenzland" by Bunji Garlin. The music is the work of Xpert Productions released on the Slam Bang Riddim. The song "Entering Greenzland" by Bunji Garlin celebrates Grenadian culture and the island's unique brand of carnival.

The song's title refers to the nickname for Grenada, "Greenzland". The song's lyrics describe the excitement of arriving in Grenada and the anticipation of experiencing the island's vibrant culture. "Greenzland" is a celebration of Grenadian culture, a culture that continues to influence Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival with a lineage of musical greats.

"Entering Greenzland" is a fun and upbeat song that captures the essence of Grenadian culture. It is a must-listen for anyone who is planning a trip to the island or who simply wants to experience a taste of the Caribbean.

Bunji, the boss lyricist, hits the sweet spot with lyrics relevant to the Grenadian culture and what Greenzland and Spicemas are all about:
  • Cuh deh say I moving like a Greenz man,
  • Mi arms spread wide showing the wingspan,
  • Meh head to foot in oil knocking a tin pan,
  • Jab come over the hill ENTERING GREENZLAND
The artist wraps the image and lifestyle into his persona and lets the people know that he is one of them, he is a Greenz man coming to play mas for Spicemas 2023 in Greenzland!

In Your Pocket by Dev | Soca 2024

You should keep whatever you find or discover (about people around you) in your pocket! In other words, mind your damn business! This should be the mantra/modus operandi for all people. Life would be sweet! The message, 'Don't mind my business', has been packaged as a new Soca music piece for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2024.

Dev always has interesting music with a distinct vibe. This song, "In Your Pocket," takes the traditional Soca music route to deliver his message. The songwriters were very blunt and stated their thoughts in a blunt and effective manner. We like the vibe, the meaningful lyrics, and Dev's singing talent.

We have the song here for your listening pleasure, but it can also be found on your favorite listening platforms. Please request that your local radio stations play the song. These productions cost money and should be given the opportunity to reach a broader audience in order to ensure a successful musical endeavor.

We love the song, the message, and the music. We are looking forward to more from Dev and all upcoming Soca music releases for Carnival 2024.
