Today is a special day in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. As the moon drifts away and the sun rises on the Twin Island Republic, the melodious sound of the steelpan fills the ears of a nation that has transitioned from sleep to wakefulness. Joshua Regrello's attempt to break the world record for the longest steelpan playing on this day is stirring up excitement in the nation, setting the stage for yet another historic day for the national instrument. Starting at 6:00 pm on December 27, 2024, his journey to set this milestone should conclude on December 28, 2024, at 12:00 noon. WACK Radio 90.1 FM in San Fernando,

Kenny Phillips, renowned musician and producer as well as CEO of WACK Radio/TV, will host this marathon, and all social media platforms will stream it live, including Sokah2Soca. The event promises to attract music lovers and supporters from all over, eager to witness this extraordinary feat. In addition to the main performance, there will be guest appearances by renowned steelpan artists, turning the occasion into a celebration of culture and talent.

As you watch this marathon, take note that words of encouragement will be pouring into the studio at WACK Radio as well as on the WACK Radio chat box on YouTube. You too can encourage the artist and help propel Joshua to his goal. Indeed, Trinidad is the birthplace of our national instrument, and it is only fitting that this talented son of the soil sets this record today.

Fans of the Steelpan, fans of Joshua, and just anyone who has a dream to achieve monumental tasks should applaud this endeavor. We wish Joshua all the luck and stamina he needs to achieve this lofty goal. Join in and enjoy Joshua Regrello's talent if you want to feel inspired. It is not just a time to sit back and admire his talent but a time to enjoy some sweet steelpan music. Good luck, and go get them, Joshua!

Today, I will be making some comments that are likely to upset many fans who adore Kes' music. However, we are discussing different aspects of Kes' music! This simply depends on what truly resonates with you and your current mood. Having said that, I still believe that "Talk To Me" by Kes is way superior to "Cocoa Tea" by the same artist.

After a cup of "Cocoa Tea," I realized "Talk to Me" was speaking to my heart! This moment of reflection highlights the deep emotional connection I felt with the song, as it resonated with my feelings and experiences. The combination of the soothing drink and the music created a perfect atmosphere for introspection.

Cocoa Tea is a teaser song filled with double entendre, also known as "double talk." "Cocoa Tea" is a teaser song that is blowing up internationally, and that is a good thing for Kes, the artist! However, "Talk To Me," a lyrical masterpiece, takes listeners on an emotional journey filled with love and emotional themes. While both songs showcase Kes's incredible talent and style, "Talk to Me" stands out as a superior track for several reasons. It's unfortunate that some discerning listeners may not share my sentiments. Yes, I can say that!

I am going to speak briefly in the following terms: engaging lyrics, catchy melody, emotional depth, production quality, and versatility. If you disagree with my assessment that "Talk to Me" is the superior song, let's get together for a beer to discuss our differences.

Kes himself wrote the engaging lyrical content, leading one to conclude that he was experiencing a moment. This song features his heartfelt and relatable lyrics that should resonate with those who are having a moment and enduring emotional relationship turmoil. The song's message of connection and communication resonates deeply, making it more impactful than the playful vibe of "Cocoa Tea." Hey, just listen to the song with an open mind and a glass of wine.

"Talk to Me" has an infectious melody that spreads like a common cold, causing everyone in close proximity to share and experience the musical vibe. Its catchy hooks and smooth transitions create an unforgettable listening experience that lingers long after the song ends.

The emotional side of this song is the most impactful and powerful pull, especially when Kes says, "Talk to me, my love!" Oh, Lordy, I felt like I wrote that myself. The song's emotional depth allows listeners to connect on a personal level, creating a lasting impression.

No matter how excellent a song's lyrics are, if the music, and especially the production, fails to match their beauty, the song may easily slip from your mind. That is not the case with this production. The production of "Talk to Me" is top-notch, with a polished sound that enhances Kes' vocals and the overall vibe of the track. The attention to detail in the arrangement and mixing sets it apart from "Cocoa Tea." Credit Nine Mind Entertainment/Lenkey Records for this excellent production.

When I listen to this song, the word versatile comes to mind: versatile in the sense that it can adapt to many different functions or activities. Yes, take it from me: "Talk to Me" is versatile and can be enjoyed in various settings, from intimate gatherings to lively parties. Its universal appeal makes it a go-to track for any occasion, whereas "Cocoa Tea" may be more niche.

As of this posting, "Cocoa Tea" is blowing up the charts, and this is a damn positive thing for Kes the Band. Kes is an excellent artist and has been producing wonderful music for so long. He deserves all the success he gets. Having said that, I am willing to expose myself to any criticism by saying the following: both songs are undoubtedly great, but "Talk to Me" offers a richer, more engaging experience that truly showcases Kes' artistry. Do you agree? Which song resonates with you more?

It feels like Carnival day instead of Christmas day as Power Soca music releases are coming on stream for Carnival 2025. The bacchanal is now gearing up as Boxing day takes hold of Trinidad and Tobago. So here we go and our advise is that you should get ready to feel the power and energy of the newly released Soca song "Road Meeting" featuring the dynamic duo Fay Ann Lyons and Syri Lyons, produced by the talented Travis World. This track is specifically created for the highly anticipated 'Road Wars'—the message is clear Fay Ann has written a song to wear out sneakers come carnival Monday and Tuesday. Are you ready for to start the bacchanal?

"Road Meeting" is a fast-paced, high-energy Soca anthem that promises to ignite the streets and get everyone moving. With its infectious beats and powerful vocals, this song is set to be a major contender in the Road March competition. Fay Ann Lyons has called upon and introduced the Soca loving public to Syri Lyons, the apple (lets say ripe mango) "doh fall far from the tree". They brought their A-game to this production, delivering electrifying vibe that will lead to memorable performances that capture the true spirit of Carnival. We will collectively witness history in the making.

The collaboration between these artists, combined with Travis World's expert production, makes "Road Meeting" a standout track that you won't be able to resist. The true Road Wars have begun, and we can't wait to see how this song performs on the road!
